Volunteer With CMHA
Carroll County Mental Health Advocates utilizes volunteers to help with special events, client services, and operational duties. Contact us today to discuss volunteer opportunities at CMHA!
CMHA Advocate Training Program
CMHA clients need an “advocate” that can help them navigate the mental health care system to avoid relapse or crisis situations. CMHA Advocates complete a 25-hour training program to become certified, mental health advocates that assist clients on their journey.
Pre-Trial and Early Diversion clients are paired with a trained advocate to help them keep track of appointments, meeting dates and times, and other information that is relevant to their success. The Advocate also works closely with CMHA program staff to report progress in the prescribed treatment plan and intervene when needed.
Program Volunteers
CMHA also hosts weekly peer-led support groups and activities for individuals living with mental illness. If you have a special interest or talent to share with our clients (such as cooking, crafts, health/wellness topics, or seasonal activities), we’d love to talk to you!
CMHA promotes mental health education and awareness events in the community throughout the year. Our volunteers help at education fairs, annual 5k events, community festivals and other local events. If you would like to participate or help plan community activities or have an idea for a program or event, we’d love to hear from you!
Volunteers are also needed in the Recovery Spot of West Georgia program. If you are interested in starting or facilitating a recovery support group at The Recovery Spot of West Georgia, please contact us!
