How Can We Help You?

Get Started

Carroll County Mental Health Advocates (CMHA) is committed to providing support services, resources and education to individuals and families impacted by mental illness and addiction and the Carroll County community. Our organization has eight areas of service:

Mental Health Pre-Trial Diversion Program

This program provides opportunities for individuals who have been charged with a qualifying misdemeanor crime, to participate in a 12-month intensive mental health treatment program in lieu of sentencing.

Early Diversion Program

This program provides opportunities for individuals with serious mental health diagnosis or co-concurring disorder to choose a 6-month intensive mental health treatment program in lieu of arrest/booking for a qualifying misdemeanor.

Peer Support Program

CMHA also hosts support groups and activities for individuals living with mental illness. NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) Carroll County Support Groups meet at the CMHA office weekly.

CMHA Advocate Training

CMHA offers a 25 hour training program for community volunteers to become certified, mental health advocates.  Advocates are then paired with CMHA clients to help them on their path to treatment and self-sufficiency.

Community Education and Outreach

CMHA promotes mental health education and community outreach to break the stigma associated with mental illness. This program hosts events throughout the year.

The Recovery Spot of West Georgia

The Recovery Spot of West Georgia is a safe space for individuals whose lives have been impacted by addiction. We provide peer support services and recovery-focused community education and outreach programs.

Youth Mental Health Task Force

Carroll County Mental Health Advocates and the Child Advocacy Center hosted a Stakeholder Meeting  in January 2021 to engage in conversation about the importance of mental wellness among youth in Carroll County.
